An unfinished read.

“I’ll get back to it when I get a chance.”

Is what every writer says.

It’s the same thing I keep telling myself over and over again. I always think I want to get back to reading and writing. But something blocks me every single darn time. I don’t quite understand it. I always tell myself I need to be in the the right environment. I need to have the right tools. But little did I know, I had the tools in front of me the entire time. My escape has always been writing. But not just writing anything. Typing it, is what gets me going. Yes, I love calligraphy but I also love the way the letters click on the keyboard while i’m typing it. It’s a relief, almost like it’s satisfying.  I always think I want to write in my pretty little journals, but sometimes my hands won’t write as fast as I can think. And the reality of it is that in order for me to have a successful writing session, I don’t like to think too much about what I’m going to be writing. I just like it to sort of flow. It allows me to be more organic in my writing and just express what I think and feel without going over it too much. I know that sounds a bit drastic but it’s essential for me to be able to say how I feel as an amateur writer. I’m sure I’ll do things a bit more eloquently in the future. But the truth is, that when i’m writing by hand, it sort of slows down the process for me and I really just like to write the first thoughts or ideas that come to my mind. Of course there will be tons of errors because I type faster than I can write, but I edit and re-edit as much as I want to to get the job done. And with that being said i’m able to really spill my thoughts ferociously into the abyss of what is the internet… In sincerity, it’s just so that I don’t give my mind all that time to think about what it is that I want to express.  It keeps things fresh, and well.. Once my fingers get tired or my brain get’s worn out. I’ll just sit back and reread some of the things that I just wrote. And go from there.

So I think the main reason, Or should I say suspect, the reason as to why I haven’t been reading my books as much anymore. Is because I believe not writing or not spilling my thoughts has really hindered my motivation to pick up a book and keep reading. Sometimes I get filled up with so much information or  knowledge, that I feel like i’m storing all of it in my brain for literally no reason at all. I’m not really into reading novels. But maybe I should start getting into that. It might entice me to read more. But for now, I’m just going to start writing more and see what happens. Hopefully this discharge of thoughts will allow my head to feel more light-weight, so that I can read a good book with a fresh mind and actually finish it. Anyway, I think that’s it for today. I really was itching to just write stuff, I was bottling up a lot inside for a very long time. And apparently so, for no reason at all. At least here I don’t have to worry about anyone judging or criticizing me since I’m pretty sure I haven’t acquired any loyal readers. It’s making this process a little more fun for me I’m not going to lie.

I have to seriously promise myself it’s not going to take me so darn long to just write a blog post, slash daily journal entry, slash diary entry, slash life post, slash book drafts or whatever you’d wish to call this. This has been very therapeutic for me. Tomorrow I shall be born again. Goodnight.
